The definition of "pimp" is a grey one, so half the people who are pimping or being pimped are in denial. The ones who really are hard core pimped would never admit it anyway.

Not all pimps are "bad" either: we usually call them "managers".. hah,..and we never call a female manager a "pimp', some are "good pimps" but some can be just as bad as the stereotype.

Of course the ONLY way to ensure that your recieve 100% profit for the work you do, is to be an "Independent Provdier" , i don't care if you are a stripper, webcam girl, work for an agency, a spa, a model, a whatever.... If you have to pay any kind of cut to anyone for your business to continue, you are being pimped in some way or fashion.

but sometimes, working for someone else is less of a hassle.
i'm a consultant who is pimped by my employer - they do the advertising, find the clients, sign a deal w/ the client, send me there, bill the client, and pay me about 1/3 of the total fee billed. for me, having them do all that is better for me.
