Oh, what Kirk Gibson did to my beloved Oakland Athletics in the 1988 World Series. His game winning home run off Dennis Eckersley in Game 1 of the Series would be something the A's would never recover from as the Series played out.

This is a nice story of the drama behind the drama of that "magical moment".
