One way of understanding the interactions of the eccie AR community is to examine it with Social Network Analysis (SNA). For those of you who are not familiar with this technology, SNA maps relationships using graph theory with other aspects of social science, computer science and other disciplines. SNA can reveal the network makeup and provide insights into previously unknown aspects of any networked community.

The graph illustrates features of the networked eccie/BP relationships in AR at a certain point in time. It shows links between providers and hobbyists who were active in the last few months. One appeal of looking at networked relationships show how some actors (jargon) may have advantages while others may or may not endure, all based upon unintentional relationships.

This particular model shows the social network at a global level. By no means does the model represent every eccie AR provider and hobbyist, just multiple actors that were active participants in the last few months since my initial login. The red circles denote the females, while the blue circles are the males. Just by examining the graph alone one can get a sense of who lines on the boundaries and who are the core members.

Useless info....order matters...reliable data not available....halt and burn.
Trying to figure out which dot I am.....................

Without 'handles' on the dots, the core members are unknown.

This is a very odd post. What was the purpose of your analysis, camel66!Aden?
I happen to use SNA in my work. Interestingly (and disturbing) it is used to represent many things from influence from a marketing perspective to how contagious diseases spread.

I'd really like to understand how this data was even available for analysis as it either represents PMs sent or reviews done (reviews would be less concerning, especially if you have so little life that you compiled this manually...if you are that big a geek I will hire you today).

If from PMs, this is highly concerning to me and likely to result in my account being shut faster than a cat running through a dog kennel.
Excellent point.
I can see my dot!!! Life is good!!!
GD... I think you the dot under me... wait now on top of me.. wait now beside me.... fuck I love that graph!!

Ummm, I believe those comments were made in jest. But flyboy raises a question not in jest. Was this generated using reviews or something else?

Would be interesting to know where the info came from, or if there was any info. Graph could have come from anywhere. Even if it was real, what would it prove that isn't already obvious to everyone?
I'd also like to know where the same poster got the data for his word cloud over in the fuck you you're fired thread. I know enough about how those are generated to start thinking that someone with a pretty high degree of technical sophistication has access to all the data on this board. Don't think it doesn't happen. It is routine and common to build social networks based upon cell phone billing data.

Might be my last post here. Au revoir.

One way someone could use this data is to build a eccie AR community built on connections. With more connections there may be more opportunities. Someone could track their ties and with this they could look at strategies in creating new opportunities.

If you prefer I will develop a graph with your username attached so you can gauge where you fit in.
