By the way, I'm sure many of the workers in these professions don't openly share many of the details on their dangerous work with loved ones, either. For the same reason. It's one and the same.

I've had very dangerous jobs in the past and I would never go into detail about or even tell loved ones about work place hazards, accidents or deaths. Just because I didn't want them to worry.
They knew what I did, but I downplayed the hazards to a minimum.
