I believe that homosexuality like transgender and many other things are birth defects that affect the brain.
Transgender is described as testosterone either being present when it should not or not present when it should during the development of the embryo and the fetus.

Some of this is caused by defects in genetics that turn the switches on or off during the development. The sex organs develope before the brain is told what gender it should be.

From what I know of people that are either homosexual or have counseled homosexual youths; none have ever indicated that it was a choice. The conflict, depression, and pressure they get because they know they are not "normal" is not something that any of them would choose. Many suicides by youth are the result of these conflicts.

All of that being said, I do believe that there are people that choose to participate in the "lifestyle" but the number is far fewer than most believe.

Their affliction does not make them any less human, it just makes them different from what we believe is normal. Sort of like an albino is devoid of melanin that creates the color because of a malfunction in their genetics, or people with 6 fingers, or the color of the eyes, or hair. the p;resence of hormones, testosterone is a hormone, or the absence of those hormones can have very dramatic affects on what a person becomes even though they may appear normal.

Since we know from history that homosexuality is nothing new and things have changed dramatically in so many ways, why is it so difficult to understand that we are not all the same and accept that. This does not mean that those that are different should get special treatment or be denied the same things as the next person.
