Questions for the 'confiscation' advocates...

An interesting announcement yesterday.

"President Trump on Tuesday directed Attorney General Jeff Sessions to craft new regulations to ban firearm modifiers including the “bump stock” used in the Las Vegas massacre, amid bipartisan calls to strengthen gun laws in the wake of recent shooting rampages."


Congratulations to him!! In a recent thread on this forum I supported a ban on the bump stock. I'm glad to see that people are not simply sitting on their hands after the most recent tragedy in Florida but are moving forward to prevent a recurrence of the Las Vegas shootings in which the bump stock was used.

Bump Stocks are not a game changer. Banning them is nothing more than a political move. The banning of the Bump Stock just gives people the illusion that something is being done to curb gun violence. Furthermore the Bump Stock is an after market accessory and isn't in contrary to the Second Amendment. Do you not understand why 2A is so important?

They may as well ban High Powered Scopes and Laser Sights which can actually aid the shooter in better shot placement. Here's the "short" of all this Liberal Double Speak:

Don't list them on here, but make a list of the known banned commodities.

Make another list of persons who are "banned" from entering this country.

The Liberals think laws will solve the problem. They don't want something they just pass a law to "stop it"! Then they choke up the prisons with the law violators. Then they don't want to pay for the prisons needed to warehouse the violators. So they start releasing the criminals they put in jail who violated the laws they created to change their behavior.

Almost every carnival has one! We just had 8 years of the "Medicine Man," and that's not what I am referencing. "Merry-Go-Round"! Trump Tower has one ... "Revolving Door"!

Like "concealed carry" training driver's education is inadequate to properly prepare a person for realities on the street (OR IN SCHOOL BUILDINGS CROWDED WITH HYSTERICAL STUDENTS! ... as it relates to CHL).

The teaching of Maturity and Responsibility begins before a child starts learning to walk. IMO it actually begins in the womb when the child is developed sufficiently to hear the environment around their mother.

I don't disagree with you at all. Unfortunately in a limited amount of time it is impossible to cover all possible circumstances a driver will run into on the road. The basics are covered and then experience over the years behind the wheel comes into play.

There are a number of "fixes" ...

On a forbidden topic the DEA attempted the "laundry list" style statute and the "chemists" just modified the "formulas" for the synthetics.

It's a fine balance between being overly vague and overly specific.

But here's the bottom line ..

many years ago I relaxed on the ocean view porch of a shack cantina on a Mexican West Coast beach away from the beaten path of tourists, et al, and watched small boats ferry loads of automatic weapons off a Chinese flagged freighter and head up the river into the mountains of Western Mexico.

The Mexican army was afraid to go up into the mountains. Out gunned!

And I guess you don't want a "wall" either?
