This is about as asinine as you’ve written. I don’t even know where to start. I’ll just say this though. Lawyers are small businesses. And our firm has over 130 attorneys in 3 states and we represent some of the largest companies in the US and likely 80% of my partners are Republicans. And I’m loving ribbing the shit outta them over the Biden Admin, I digress.

Your generalization is truly crazy talk. The wealthiest cities and states in the US are all Dem controlled. The state of TX is the outlier but even it’s cities are Dem run. Comparing the efficient of Podunk Alabama with its 300 people and 1 street to a city of a million is ridiculous.

You know better than this. Don’t regress. Originally Posted by 1blackman1

As to elections, where I live at least, it's city and county officials that determine how long the lines are by how much manpower they allocate to polling sites. And they're never long. There are something like a couple of weeks for early voting, and voting on Saturdays I believe. Now whether that's because of local officials or a Republican Secretary of State, I don't know. I just don't buy that there's massive voter suppression occurring, any more than I buy that there's massive election fraud.

Baton Rouge metro area is about 800K people and it’s crime rate is no different than any medium sized city/metro. Find me a large Republican led city for comparison.

Hard economic times tend to lead to higher crime no matter who’s in charge.

I believe Republicans just do a better job of governing at the local and state level. I’ve got no complaints about the cost and quality of what my local and state governments provide.

You would suspect that a county that does a good job of policing and providing other services to the community would also run elections more efficiently.

1b1-i must wonder if One is deliberately "baiting" - or genuinely believes the 'minority identity politics" nonsense you post in this thread

So sad to see One so deluded in the ideology of 'minority identity politics" Uber Alles.

Deluded in the belief that 'minority identity politics" underlie every human interaction in America - and the 'minority identity politics" policies of the marxist DPST/ccp party are an answer to one's personal issues.

One shills for the very One's that enslave One .
So often it seems, We live our lives in chains- and never ,ever, realize we have the key.

Racial discrimination - caused by ignorance, resulting in fear, causing hatred, - is an equal opportunity failure independent of a person's color of envelope.
Perhaps One fine day - One might come to that understanding, give up the 'racism' One demands be given up in Others.
How to do that - education is the answer to the ignorance, fear, and hatred, but will not come from the marxist DPST/ccp Teacher's Unions dedicated to entrenched institutional hatred and thei own 'racism".

Secondly these applicants who are hired must be supported by the community, become well trained and paid adequately. If these things are sufficiently met a Police Dept can be successful in managing crime. When city Governments and activist groups begin campaigns of defunding the police and police reform it sends a psychological message to the community that something is wrong and they no longer have to abide by the law or comply with the police. It also sends a message to the Police that they are suddenly the enemy of both the Community and the Government. All over America crime has spiked since the Pandemic, but the cause just isn't the Pandemic it's an overall attitude that's beginning to change the way citizens view the police profession.

L-17 - thank you for teh above
perhaps rather than change the way 'citizens" view the police - it is the radicals who are trying to foist that attitude of 'disarm, defund, disband" - and thoughtful, responsible people will recognize teh fallacy of the ideology idiots - and reject their ideology and false narrative .

The radicals are welcome to go to Seattle/Portland and live on the streets with the results of their policies.

Let the marxist DPST/ccp radicals do their damndest - 2022 is coming.

Either free elections - or civil war!
