The term Orient is a geographical term, encompassing most of Far East Asia. People from that region have long been referred to as Orientals. It is not a derogatory term, any more than a term such as Eastern Europeans is used. However, "orientals" have long been depicted in American movies in a poor light.



I have had a chance to spend time in most all of the countries of the region. I can only say from my experience that black people are not liked. At least from the people I have met, the reason is there are so many bad experiences with black scammers, and their behavior. A lot of blacks from Nigeria and similar places.

Well in Northern Italy the people are primarily light hair , light skin and many even have Blue eyes. Sicily is quite different the people are mostly mixed Roman, Greek, Arab and even Black (the Mores) Sicily was engaged in many wars over many generations with Italy and Greece other countries also got involved and of course inbreeding between these different people took place. So although Sicily is considered part of Italy the people are not true Italians. I am Sicilian, I've never been there but I know the history. I've seen Sicilians that you would swear are Black or Arab. My family is Greek in terms of the mix. People complain about racism in America but most European countries would be worse. People of color would have to walk a thin line if they decided to live in some European countries. People of color are lucky here in America, we all are and we shouldn't forget that.
