Smoking in a public place is NOT a right (outside or inside), IMHO.

I smoked from age 13, until my early fifties. Once a pack was more than $4 I quit. It was difficult, and I suffered, but I'm better now. It's a silly, expensive habit.

It can seriously affect people, around you, with asthma, and COPD.

My advice is quit. You'll be much happier.

So, maybe there is a distinction between a right and legal?

Sorry Pfunkdenver, I may have been rash as perhaps with the young man. No disrespect intended. I agree that cigs are not good for my health, as stated and can affect others nearby. But am still vacillating about where the young man was coming from in expecting me to accommodate his preference versus my desire to legally enjoy a smoke.

Given that 0.17% of Americans have died of COVID so far, you can say masking up religiously isn't going to reduce the average American's chances of dying from COVID by any more than a fraction of 1%.
