Suicides were actually down. Deaths from heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimers were up, above trend, probably because COVID killed off a lot of people who had those conditions. This is part of the reason I believe excess deaths from COVID have been undercounted. Originally Posted by Tiny

Oeb, I believe it would be very hard for the CDC to fake the total number of deaths in the USA. Look at the table Dilbert posted. From 2017 to 2018, total deaths increased by 25,702. From 2018 to 2019, they increased by 15,633. Then for 2020 vs. 2019, there was a whopping increase of 503,976 deaths!

345,323 of those were attributed to COVID by the CDC (again, see Dilbert's table).

This is why I believe there was undercounting. More than 345,323 Americans probably died in 2020 because of COVID.
