Is asking a provider to model first still a decent screening tool?

My objection would be the social network trail left behind once the facebook algorithm starts recommending people as "mutual friends" etc. Seems not good for privacy.

I always bring my camera to a hotel incall and if i'm asked why i'm there I just say i'm picking up a model for a photoshoot. You do know that you need to have a signed model release from the model before doing the shoot and you have to know the real name of the model and have a copy of their real ID for your records, if you want to believed that what you're saying is true, no real photographer wouldn't know the real name of the model they are working with.
Also most escorts aren't just going to agree to you taking nude pictures of them, most won't, unless you have agreed to pay them first just for taking pictures. which they can make more money doing just that, than actually having to do the escort work.

An amateur photographer does not need a model release unless he is going to sell the photos for publication or commercial use. A copy of the model's ID is a good idea - but not required by anyone - to make sure you can prove the model is at least 18 years old. I have done a number of amateur photoshoots that turned into sexual encounters, but I was only paying for the shoot, not for what developed afterward.
