No, why should you get fucked by them?

Is your house made of wood?

We are. Back then we were on the gold standard and international trade was a smaller part of our economy. Bigly.

Also, we had a 14.54% tariff on Canadian softwood until this week.

You should watch the 60 Minutes interview Pelley did with Lighthizer
Trump has done more in 2 weeks than Biden did in 4 years. And you guys cried and cried about tariffs. The war isn’t over but the day goes Trump. Again.

“Mexican president announces the following:
- Tariffs paused for "one month from now"
- Reinforcing U.S border with 10,000 troops
- U.S. will crack down on firearm trafficking into Mexico”

So she extracted some promises from Trump. Nice.

She's proven a savvy leader with a cool head thus far.

A trend appears to be emerging that Trump's a tariff paper tiger
We can add this as another Trump win to the “orange man bad” thread soon to start.

Appreciate the example.

I’ll ask again. If tariffs are so bad why did Biden leave Trumps tariffs intact from his 1st term? Originally Posted by Green_Mountain

Biden kept and added/increased much more than he eliminated.

Again, I'm not a fan of tariffs. But I am a fan of honest representation of the facts.

I reconsidered. Still perfectly comfortable with my post.

Thanks, Lusty

When they fact check that post, lmk.

It's kind of like praising Trump for getting Mexico to send 10k troops to the border for a surge.

Biden got Mexico to do that without a big hullabaloo about tariffs. In 2021. In 2022 he got them to invest $1.5 billion at the border. He got them to take 15 administrative actions in 2023.

Using Tariffs like a blunt cudgel while having a smiling face get him to do more of the same while giving concessions.

Check the facts
