Is Charlies in Montrose still open? I got into a food fight one night there. Good times.

The Westheimer Strip was, in specific blocks, much like NOLA’s Bourbon Street, and/or Austin’s 6th Street.

Edited to add: Another early 80’s wild place was Lake Travis, just past Austin. Back then, Hippie Hollow was very much co-ed, rather than mostly gay males, as it is today, but after dark, it was the park by the dam, where overnight camping was allowed, that things got interesting. My SCUBA instructor’s girlfriend sat next to me, at the camp fire, and wanted me to walk into the darkness with her, for some private fun. Free love was a thing, back then.

Who's bringing the doughnuts tomorrow?
Day/Night on Almeda is open 24/7. House of Pies on Westheimer is not. So basically you have Day/Night. Katz and Ihop/Dennys. Katz on Westheimer is a total vibe on Friday/Saturday/Sunday late night. Those are the only options. Covid changed the way people do business unfortunately. Can't go wrong with Katz on Westheimer

and...he didn't specify WHICH Katz's on Westheimer. There's more than one now.

Exactly,
One at the edge of Westchase and the 2nd closer in.

3rd in Woodlands, 4th in the Heights.
None of which have bulk doughnuts to go.

We hit Katz Woodlands on occasion when we're in that area.
