Maybe he was a good police officer. This article and the question posed is predicated upon the premise that all immigrants are somehow less than citizens.

Yes, he never should have been a police officer because he was not a citizen. That’s a given because he broke immigration law. However it does seem like they hired him because they needed to fill a position and he fit all the other criteria needed.

Maybe we should figure out a way for illegal immigrants to earn their citizenship rather than just deporting them en masse.

I don't mind at all those that are illegal to serve our country for citizenship and would feel the same for a rigorous method for them to do the same in law enforcement.
