"I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational. Nobody talks like this. They live in a complete alternate universe."
"Having an armed citizenry comes with a price, and that is part of liberty," he said. "Driving comes with a price—50,000, 50,000, 50,000 people die on the road every year. That's a price. You get rid of driving, you'd have 50,000 less auto fatalities. But we have decided that the benefit of driving—speed, accessibility, mobility, having products, services is worth the cost of 50,000 people dying on the road.
"So we need to be very clear that you're not going to get gun deaths to zero. It will not happen. You could significantly reduce them through having more fathers in the home, by having more armed guards in front of schools. We should have a honest and clear reductionist view of gun violence, but we should not have a utopian one."
Your blinders only work in one direction when it comes to divisiveness. The use of the phrase “your side” is telling. I don’t have a side.
The way I remember it is somewhere around 2014 your side racialized and sexualized everything. You put the population into these neat little groups and everything became a comparison.
I’ll say one thing with the Ukrainian girl yesterday and Charlie today you sure are radicalizing a large chunk of the groups. Originally Posted by Green_Mountain

Maybe we wait for the details. No prayers for him from me, though. Just good thoughts and vibes.
Political violence is no bueno and not the way. Originally Posted by HDGristle

The Ukrainian girl’s murder was racially motivated. They had no interaction, but just a quote that “I’m going to get the white girl” or something to that effect. Reverse the races and commit the same heinous cold blooded murder. Very different reaction by the media, the people, including those on this board.
Charlie was murdered because of the words he spoke.
So yeah there’s sides and it’s naive to think otherwise. Originally Posted by Green_Mountain

And I'll say it again, some of the same things said is pure hypocrisy.
Validation of the use of assassination because someone says something you dont like is REPULSIVE, and stating that shows your lack of humanity.
It's a sickness, and you confirm it daily. Originally Posted by Devo
