Missed appointment

The situation you encountered is generally called "no call no show" (NCNS). It happens. Either there is a genuine emergency, or the provider has poor "taking care of business" (TCB) attitude. Sooner or later, you should be able to distinguish between the two.

Same thing with me. One time I had a provider show up a few hours late because she had been mugged after work. Now, when I have a NCNS, I generally tend to worry that worst has happened. After all, even if you aren't in the business, it a scary world out there and a lot can happen.

I could not imagine being mugged... I praise the lady that showed up to still do the appointment. I think its safe to say I would be a nervous wreck.

That's how she sounded when I eventually talked to her on the phone. Unfortnately, things didn't really go as planned when she eventually showed up. I'll chalk it up to the fact that she had had a VERY bad day.
