. The percentage of defense to total spending is less than 5% in recent years ...

You do the math.

SS and Medicare are in the black but there is no money left. Why? Because we spent it on Defense.

Defense spending has eaten up your SS retirement money. If you are ok with that, I'm ok with it. Most people would not be , if they knew the math.

the money has come from SSN!

I can read and I can do math. So not to worry.

And did Obaminable dip into SS to pay for the military so he could throw money down for the labor unions and extend the unemployment benefits ...????

Just like "we" cited the military AND the CIA for our time-line/response allegations!!!!

Of course, I recognize that in a 60-minute TV series there is 49 minutes of "action" and therefore one who spends their life feeding on TV series information for their posts would get that confused with multiple attacks in one seige over an 8 hour period.

But that begs the question ... had there been sufficient force in place originally there may not have been any attack that lasted 5 minutes or any attack at all.

Some call it deterrence .. others call it common sense. Something not learned as President of the Harvard Law Review, community organizer, or a Consitutional law professor.

As it played out and is being revealed almost daily, I call it gross-negligence at least and more likely intentional refusal for political purposes. What's a few good men? If one has an upcoming election with a close opponent.

Go to page 8 or page 118 to find the amount of money spent on defense is about $600 billion for 2011 and slightly less (-13%) for 2012 if you think 13% is a slight amount. I couldn't find the source for USGOVERNMENTSPENDING but it is not a government site.

Figure 1-2. DoD Proposed Outyear Topline

Check it out yourself, it doesn't cut and paste right. Also bear in mind that this is all proposed since there is no budget approved and hasn't been for over three years.

You comparing 2002 dollars to 2012 dollars ...
and % of gross production
and overall spending?

Gasoline prices have more than doubled to almost tripled in the same time frame. Plus

911 forward created unusually immediate expenditures in defense spending.

Shit happens!

My electricity bill doubles in the summer time .... shit happens. My natural gas bill doubles in the winter time .. shit happens.

Guns or fat. Vote today. But vote your conscience not your heart.
