Seriously, go away already. Keep your customer (s?) afloat on your progress via twitter or add yet another line to your signature. You have to be at or past 15 lines by now.
For 99% of street legal cars that run the quarter mile spoilers (or whatever wakeup calls them) don't do any good at all. Plus they add weight, which takes time off the quarter mile, even thought the weight is minimal.

There are a lot of things that can affect how fast the same exact car is. In this context, the talk about 'spoilers' isn't important at all. Originally Posted by DEAR_JOHN

The spoiler ramps the air up (laminar flow) and away from the rear of the car far enough to minimize the vacuum greated when the air becomes turbulent.

Without a spoiler the air coming over the trunk drops down to the tail lights and swirls creating a vacuum effect on the rear of the car, a spoiler decreases this. Check out a car with a spoiler at highway speeds in the rain and watch the air flow versus one with out.

If you google about whether spoilers work or not, you will get many different answers. However if I had $300 bucks and was looking for mods that would help my performance, I would put a spoiler at the bottom of the list (assuming my car doesn't have a spoiler).

I will say that I've been on many car forums for several years and spoilers aren't even considered to be a performance mod. Some guys may buy another spoiler for looks, but not for performance. Some guys on some the car forums even have threads about spoiler deletes, and those threads are pretty common.

I stated this earlier and would like to amend it. I would like to change "don't do any good at all" to "appears to have minimal effect on performance."

Again, there are all sorts of answers on google about the effect of spoilers. As I stated before, I've seen many times more postings about spoiler deletes vs. buying a new spoiler.
