Go Astros!

Here's also an interesting read for yinz. Last night was right up there in the batshit crazy-shpere for WS games.

And I beg to differ. If for some reason LA gets their asses pasted in Houston, it will be every bit as significant as the Gibson HR. After Gibson hit that one off the world's greatest closer, Dennis Eckersley, Oakland just crumbled for the rest of the series. And, it came in GAME ONE. Dodgers went on to win series 4-1.

If the Astros pound them Dodgers in the HOU and -- as unlikely as it is -- this ends in 5, then Gonzalez' HR will be the spark that set it off.

It's going to be fun.

Nobody remembers Dick Steward who hit a 2 run dinger against the Yankees to tie game 7 in the 8th inning at 9/9. It set the stage for Maz. Without Steward, no Maz. Originally Posted by bambino

Remember the routine double play grounder that took a bad hop and hit Yankee shortstop Tony Kubek in the throat in Game 7? That helped to set up Hal Smith's 8th inning home run. Kubek went to the hospital. After the game, one Pirate took time off from all the wild celebrating to visit Tony Kubek in the hospital. I can't remember if it was Dick Groat or Bob Friend. Class act.

I offered 250. Wouldn’t sell it. Mantle was my dads favorite player.

Under wins.

So do the Astros!

Kicked the shit out of Yu Darvish along the way to a 2-1 series win.

Houston puts the pressure on the Dodgers pitching staff yet again.
