the moon prolly has water deposits in the south pole. that's fine if they are going to be using chemical rockets that rely on H2 and O2 gases..

but I think that's the wrong way to go. Ion engines which is being developed is the way to go. Its faster than chemical rockets.

I personally don't care where people direct their individual monies or money that can raise into what research and development tasks they choose are fit.

Many consider space exploration and technology as what will save this species long term from both over population, a doomed planet. Also, the amount of basic technology that has benefitted all of us by the space program(s) is unbelievable.

But, since you consider capitalism a failure and you don't want these people making their large sums of money in the first place, it's not surprising you want to "direct" where their money can be spent.

Right. Health care.

The healthier the population, the better quantiy and quality of production. It saves a shitload of money because you've taken care of the workers since they've been healthy from the beginning of their lives.

But how would hospitals, pharmaceuticals manufacturing and greedy doctors be able to pay for their toys?

Practical benefits as opposed to squeezing maximum profit through dependence and health insurance costs. Even improving the environment reduces out-of-work sick days.
