The blacks were denied of higher education,any kind of state of the art job, etc... This country doesn't provide equal opportunities. The NBA case is a fallacy. There are many white guys playing basketball. It just happens that most of the education deprived young kids spend their time playing ball and get a master of it.
I honestly don't believe there is a real Affirmative Action anyways. I wouldn't support it if it is used to place someone in position because of his color.
But since we still are segregated, there seems to be no viable solution except for the pseudo Affirmative Action we have. For heavens sake even hobbying is segregated and you don't need to hobby to live. How much more is the job and education segregated then...
If there was no segregation, then there is no need for Affirmative Action. You may believe in equal opportunity, but there are many who still miss the good old days of the 50's - even the 1800's.
