All of the above qualify plus throw in immigration and even more, race, religion, unions, regulation, guns, the press, trump Wall, China virus, Climate Change, etc. The function of wedge issues is to 'foment fear' and 'incite hate'! The old 'divide and conquer' gambit used countless time to Con and BS folks into deluding they are somehow getting hosed.

Big Money, Corporations, along with the Super Rich 1% know, as trump admitted last week that if Universal Voting/Online Voting is implemented the GOP will never win another election! This is the reason Moscow Mitch works so hard at Voter Suppression! Now trump LIES all mail-in votes are fake. GOP knows they can only win by Hook & by Crook, as they DID in 2016. Where 66 million voted for Hillary and 63 million voted for Don the Con! Face it The Swamp put trump in office, the people Voted in Hillary.

2016 was much worse. Hillary gets 66 million votes while trump with only 63 million votes is installed by the EC. This is why trump fumed and worried so about being considered the Illegitimate President, that he is! This has also happened at times in British History regarding their Kings they considered Illegitimate. Brits had a beautiful term when this happened calling him the 'Bastard King'! The EC is a peculiar beast. 50 States each pick 'electors' who go to DC to actually elect the POTUS every 4 years. These 'electors' are in theory supposed to vote for the candidate that won their States popular vote BUT are free NOT TO, or may be given instructions otherwise by the Governor of their State. Sure Z but how many times have electors deliberately voted against the candidate that the state's electorate voted in favor of? I'm not sure it's ever actually happened.

Also I believe there are a couple of states that do not require that electors unanimously vote for the candidate with the greatest number of popular votes within the state. I believe Nebraska is one of them.

I think the most moronic democrat party plot I have heard of relatively recently was the inane idea that states allocate their electors to whichever candidate wins the overall, national, popular vote. This in effect acts to nullify the votes of the citizens of the state itself which seems counterintuitive, no?
