I doubt giant lineup threads from the days of old will be coming back anytime soon. However, I would not rule the AMPs out just yet. In due time, and maybe in some other form, they will return. The apartments are nice but I do not see those as the long term solution.

If political affiliation were the leading factor then why is there no spas in the barren wasteland of Fort Worth where they lean heavily towards the right, and according to your logic should let things run wild and free?

That being said the Dallas political landscape is a total shit show good ol’ boys club, but it’s been that way for decades. You notice they don’t go after the 10 or so well known high stakes illegal gambling joints within a 5/10 mile radius of city hall.
Because they would walk-in on damn near every big wig in not only the council but also probably half the higher ups on the DPD. They go after the scared women who can’t make a stink because they are easy pickings.

It’s all about low hanging easy picking political points fruit.
