I B how does Gofundme compare to the Bakery? As a pharmacist I can refuse a prescription if I feel something is wrong with the prescription- i.e- forgery, dose is dangerous, etc, but if a gay person drops off a prescription. If an attorney doesn't think I have a good case he has the right to refuse to take my case- far different from an attorney saying I won't represent you because you re black or gay. If a lesbian or gay man walked into this bakery and asked for a birthday cake that said "Happy Birthday........." they would have gotten their cake. No service is denied because of sexual orientation. Go in and ask for a cake to celebrate gay marriage and now you are asking the bakery to join a cause. That is what happened. A court in Ohio found in favor of a poster maker on those exact grounds. Requiring someone's service is the same as requiring them to acknowledge your cause. Remember those Germans who just went along wth the Holocaust but did not participate directly? Where they innocent?
Go Fund Me is a unique service so far. They are taking sides and denying people service because of their beliefs. If the baker can be punished then Go Fund Me should be punished as well.
It comes down to this, you have to believe that both the baker and Go Fund Me have a fundemental right to deny service based on beliefs or neither of them do.
By the way, the two lesbians did get married. They can be found on Facebook and Linkd In. I guess they found a cake after all.
