Nixon was an economic liberal and a social conservative.........the press despised Nixon, even before Watergate....they wanted to bring down the President who beat their beloved liberals - Hubert Humphrey and George McGovern (who lost in one of he worst electoral landslides in American history).

If Obama got half the treatment that Nixon got (by an aggressive WH press corps), Obama would be in prison.
