First time I saw this I was about 8 years old.

I didn't understand it.

This is still the BEST science fiction movie ever made!!

It's coming back to IMAX on August 24th for its 50th anniversary.

This original version that's playing in IMAX right now will be released on 4k Ultra-HD Blu-ray on October 30th, 2018.

Saw blackkklanman and the meg this past week.

Blackkklanman: trump supporter’s heads might blow up watching this movie. If you take it as a comedy you might get a few laughs. Not a really believable movie with a lot of bad 70s type acting. But I thought it was entertaining but more of a wait for hbo type movie.

The meg. Just like I would figure a jaws + Jason stathem movie would be like. Watchable but if you missed it you didn’t miss much.

Went to see

The Meg (2018)

Not much to see here unless you really want to see what kind of crappy CGI a $130 million budget buys.

The only character in it that does anything is Jason Statham and the Asian lady - she is in it because this is another Hollywood Made In China movie.

The other characters are just there to fall in the water and swim in panic while The Meg is chasing them and maybe they will get to safety before they are eaten.

There are 2 other women characters in it: Jessica McNamee and Ruby Rose.

One plays Jason Statham's ex wife and the other is the designer of the underwater marina station and they both don't do much besides again, swim, swim, before The Meg eats them.

Watch (or rewatch) Jaws 1975 instead with NO CGI and a mechanical shark that was way ahead of its time.

2.5/5

p.s.

I have attempted to watch this for the 4th time since I got it 3+ weeks ago.

I just can't get into it.

I will watch maybe 10 minutes at the most if even that much and lose interest.

It's classified as a Thriller and so far it hasn't thrilled me.

Here's the trailer:

This is the 2nd theatrical movie this year I couldn't finish watching because it didn't hold my attention.

The other movie was Winchester

And there have been sine AMAZING films in recent years. King’s Speech; Twelve Years a Slave; Birdman (best pribably since Amadeus); etc. And plenty of eras have their clunkers that dint age well.

I didn't like any of those movies that won Best Pictures.

Everything that won Best Picture since 2008, I didn't like.

Gladiator and titanic were good movies.

If blackkklanman even gets nominated there is some funny business going on
I watched the new Tyler Perry movie last night called "Acrimony". It's very good.

Another one I watched last week that will give you chills is "The Keeping Hours".

Both of these are on amazon prime.
