I'm not going to lie, I could take or leave your story because I've heard better ones on gambling forums, and been present for a few that could rival it. A couple of the things you've said made me giggle, like the Cortez being impressed by your measley 7k. ANY casino in Vegas, even the downtown locations (my preference as well... I'm a fan of the Nugget) sees that much money multiple times on a daily basis, it's a non-event. They were probably just making side bets on how fast the new blood would lose his ass. They also get concerned with mid-range gamblers they've never seen before, because those are the ones that get crazy and possibly violent when they do eventually lose it all. Also, Benihana is not really expensive. :P
Your obsession with the votes is a bit irritating. Either finish the story or don't, but stop pestering people to vote. It looks attention-whorish.
And I can't teach you to play video poker. I'm not a grinder like that. There are plenty of sites that will teach you how to play... but you need to get really, really good at remembering all the little intricate contingency strategies. I don't have that kind of patience. And when I say that people make a living at it.. I mean people with $1M+ bank rolls who make $50k/yr grinding for 10 hours a day, 5 days a week at quarter machines. Not my idea of fun. Probably not yours either.

finally, the story is only as good as it is. are there better stories? sure. are there worse stories? sure. if it sucks too bad, just say no, u don't want to hear the ending. that's fine; that's why i asked.
so could u give me a yes or no? if no, just say it. we're all adults here. i'll still respect you in the morning. lol.
as to how many people sit down at the roulette table at the Cortez with over 7000 in chips, you think it happens all the time; i think it almost never happens. i think you are confusing what happens downtown with what happens on the Strip. i think we agree to disagree. let's leave it at that. im open to the possibility that you might be right, and if so, i stand corrected.
as to video poker, optimal play producing a positive expectation value seems a little hard to believe. if true, an MIT or CAL-TECH team will be on that faster than flies to shit. so my assessment is sounds implausible, but stranger things have happened.
