Actually I guess when oil exports go down then their trade surplus turns to a trade deficit, their currency weakens and the cost of imports go up. So maybe inflation increases. I don’t know. I do know a lot of their problems stem from replacing the professionals at the national oil company, PDVSA, with party hacks and then raiding PDVSA for money so that the company couldn’t maintain production levels.

I haven’t been following what’s going on there but if Maduro’s abandoning his mad shit policies that’s good news
