Zeke Suspended for 6 Games.. are the Cowboys Fucked This Year?

Butt one does not have to live in Dallas to post in Dallas. You are just feeling inferior due to all the inbreeding among cowsheep. Not to fear, at least you get to park in the handicapped spaces. Originally Posted by pyramider

Cowboys sucks in a the loser doesn't get a playoff spot game.

They go from a 1st and goal on 3 yard line to 3rd and goal on the 23 yard line to nothing and then miss a 37 yard field goal.

They are down 21-12 with 5 1/2 +/- minutes left in the game.

Why did they (Cowgirls) tried for a FG on 1st down?

He became a football idiot when Tyron Smith and Sean Lee both had to spend considerable time on the pine (injuries) and Zeke had to serve a six game suspension. Oh....not to mention...a complete sweep of the team's starting secondary on '16 (with upwards of 3 rookies starting many games during the course of the season.)

Garrett relies on an obviously outdated and unimaginative playbook. That and (let's get real here) Dez is no better than a C+ to B- rated Number Two wide receiver on most if not all other NFL teams (think about it...go thru other team's starting rosters and you'll see it's true. He's lost whatever speed he had before his injuries and the lapses in concentration makes him a spotty player at the most critical of times).

Cowboys need to crash-n-burn in Philly this Sunday and settle in with a final record of 7-9 and a 15-17 spot in the draft. With a little luck at that spot they can snag the next Luke Kuechly (LB) or DeAndre Hopkins (WR) in the first round. And even though he's a backup, find a suitable replacement for swing-tackle Chaz Green.

Actually might need to start looking for a replacement for Smith, too. OL careers can be long but the big guys tend to age quickly due to injuries stealing years off their careers. And a replacement for Green, Bell, Loony as OL backups.

Garrett lucked into 13 and 3. Cant think of anyone who gave him credit for last season. The fact that he is so overly conservative in the face of unwavering loyalty from Jerry is shocking. His game management is poor. He still has trouble managing the clock. Zeke, Dak and the OL took away all his decision making last season so on the few remaining choices (we're going for 1 guys, going for 1) he looked like a coach of the year.

Sean Lee being out HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY YEAR. Yes losing your LT hurts, but you then MAKE ADJUSTMENTS. Sorry Chateau but you aren't looking at this objectively if you think Garrett is not a very big weak link here.

Everything almost fell into their laps and then they blow it again.

The coaching staff can’t adjust for shit. You have dez throwing temper tandems and then turn around he turn over the ball when he touches it.

You have zeke and a first and goal and not once does he touch the ball. The most accurate kicker ever missing chip shots. Team is cursed.

That said, how exactly did Garrett (and the Cowboys) "luck into" a 13-3 record in 2016? Is it really that easy to win that many games in the NFL?

Quick review: the team loses their franchise QB to a back injury during the pre-season, Once it became clear Romo was gone until game 8 to 10 of the schedule, fans and media alike projected another 4-12 (or worse) record. Look it up....local and national sports writers and talking heads wrote Dallas off before game one of the season had even kicked off.

Starting a rookie qb...with a rookie rb....a suspect defense....all of that while dealing with a meddlesome, controversy-starting owner/GM....even with a last-place schedule, who on earth saw a 13 win, top seeded team on the horizon?

By the way, those "who gave Garrett credit" were the voters for the annual COY award, who cast 25 of the 50 possible first-place votes for him. Bellichick was second with 14, Adam Gase received six.

I'm not saying Garrett is a great coach by any stretch....your bullet points of his shortcomings are well chronicled. Personally, I could care less if he's the coach next year or not. All I'm saying is we (as Cowboy fans) need to temper our expectations a tad. While we're currently light years ahead of franchises like Cleveland or Indy, it's very possible the Cowboys are not as good a team as we'd like them to be. Another good draft (along with a year of seasoning for this year's rookie class) might just do the trick. Jones knows that.....and becuz he does he'll stand pat with Garrett.

The cowbitches are not light years ahead of Cleveland. Cleveland has a lot of valuable drafts picks this year plus they have something like $50M in cap space. It would not take much for Cleveland to surpass the cowbitches.
The cowbitches are going to have $10-20M in dead money for 2018.
