This guy broke 100 laws to do this and these guys think banning magazines and scary looking guns would’ve done something to stop it. It wouldn’t.

I’m no lawyer, but I think MURDER is also illegal. The dude didn’t seem to mind tho.

Man, do you not get it yet?

What makes you think there would be a Security Guard on site the entire school day?

What makes you think one guard could stop any massacre? Uvalde and Sandy Hook failed.

What makes you think one guard would be in the exact space at the right time, when a shooter walks in a propped open door?

If a shooter knew that every school in his state let's say, had guards but the state right next door didn't, where do you suppose he would chose to go? To much common sense? And if these young psychopaths know that every school has a guard or guards and everybody is diligent because we talk about how diligent we have become, that 18 just might go to a grocery store where any loss of live is horrible, but we keep the kids safe over everybody else. Damn the expense, damn the probability that it won't work EVERY TIME but we know it will work at the very least sometimes and wouldn't that right there make the effort worth while even if we are kidding ourselves, until that point in time and I can feel it coming, where we do get back to a society that does not, will not condone, tolerate what we see going on right now. And it doesn't matter if it's a 18 White, Black or Brown male.

So, because we "probably" can't save EVERY kid EVERY time, let's just ignore the FACT that it will more than likely work at least once and that once, may have been this group of 4th graders. 19 of them, 13, 14 years old.

There can be no excuse for not having a bi-partisan agreement on a first step forward. While I understand the "slippery slope" argument, sometimes ( and I think this one of those times ) this "sacrifice", of backing off the idea that we can't give an inch or we lose everything, needs to be made by both sides. A 21 year old restriction on buying an AR or similar rifle, seems responsible, it's certainly being discussed a lot and most of these lunatics seem to be under 21.

I would certainly think there are 10 Republicans that could swallow that and live through the 22 election.

The majority of the country ( I believe ) accepts the idea that we, the adults, get to put age restrictions on a variety of matters. Why should this be any different?

I would agree in addition to more school security we should add red flag laws and enact ban on AR purchases by anyone younger than 21...

Of course we’re never going to stop all the evil bastards but you take away the guns from upstanding civilians then the bastards will still have ‘em. Founding fathers were smart bastards.

Where is Briscoe Cain (just kidding)?

No AR purchases for anyone under 21...even if they carry one in the military duties? Or police duties? Or they have an AK variant? Or how about if they want to commit murder with a more devastating weapon, the shotgun. The shotgun is a more effective weapon at close range and can be reloaded on the fly (meaning that you insert shells every time you pause in your shooting)

As for raising the age to 21... I'm fine with that if we raise the voting, draft, ability to decide what gender one is, tattoo application, ability to get an abortion w/o parental signature as well.

If we are now going to say adulthood starts at 21, then all the associated rights that currently start at 18 should be changed as well.

What's hilarious is that we say 18 is too young to buy a weapon but 5 is okay to be trans-sexual and start taking hormone therapy.

What makes you think one guard could stop any massacre? Uvalde and Sandy Hook failed. <FFS: They failed because they were not there. Sandy Hook is a worse story in that thy had invested in the latest high-tech security features, except a good guy with a gun, and they all failed spectacularly>
