2022 Steelers Season Thread

Naa…Canada will stay. That way Tomlin can blame his coordinator again. You know, the college coach that he hired to begin with.
Good news is they did identify 3 bright spots. TE, RB and QB (hopefully). I just have zero confidence Tomlin/Canada have a clue.

How many years is Tomlin going to have the “no plan” plan with red flags?? As he would say, he’s not “on his details”.

to those who think it was turning out to be good, just look at who they played in the recent win streak..... and the amount of points we scored

I think kenny will continue to improve but until these guys figure out how to play thru the first three quarters like they do at the end of a game, the steelers will be an average team

Shittsburgh, city of mediocrity.

They have forgotten what it means to be champions.
Good showing at the end. 7-2 since the bye week. The competition wasn’t that great after the bye, but having Watt back and Pickett getting more reps made a big difference. The defense only let one team put up 20 or more points in those last 9, and Pickett turned the turnovers way down. I think with some help on the left side of the line, and a full off-season of Pickett getting the first team reps, we could be a real contender now that the rebuilding year is over.
Fucking opposition, they let the Steelers win and Tomlin can still brag about not having a losing record. He won't get replaced, the team will stay near 500 and star talent will want to skip town.
It’s early in the last game and Tomlin still doing Tomlin shit! Missed a red flag on an obvious touchdown followed by a fumble.

Most overrated coach in sports!! Idk how this works out, we’ll get hammered in the playoffs again. Originally Posted by Charley3

The Pens have had a video replay monitor since replay was established in the NHL, and I don’t think they have EVER missed a chance to challenge or gotten one wrong (that probably is exaggeration. I am sure they aren’t perfect, but they are really good with challenges). As a side note (and nothing to do with the most recent game specifically), they could also use a clock management specialist on staff as well. Tomlin often botches that aspect of the game. He certainly is not alone in that regard; there really are not many coaches that manage the clock well.

I swear Bilichek has someone watch the live TV feed (which is smart) and buzz him. Ive seen him reach for the flag as soon as the announcers say it needs reviewed. Sounds far fetched but why not use every tool available.

I’m pretty happy with the season. It took a while to get their legs under them, but clearly there’s a lot of young talent there. The P to P pass combo has Montana to Rice potential. Dumping Claypool was a mistake imo, another guy who could’ve been a star for the next decade. He just needed to get that rookie spark back.
I’m happy with the 32nd pick for Claypool. He was about as good after he left as his last two years on the team. He makes 50/50 balls 20/80 balls, and not in the good way.

No surprise at all. Tomlin is a fucking idiot! He can’t hire coaches. Either the best don’t want to work for him or his ego won’t allow it. So another year of average.
The Steelers were 8-2 with Watt in the lineup. 7-5 with the rookie KP as the starter. The entire team improved as the season went on. It's reasonable to believe that players going into their 2nd and 3rd seasons, such as Robinson, Leal, Pickett, Pickens, Warren, Heyward, Harris, and Muth, will all continue to improve. Austin could provide some production at WR. He's about as fast as they come. KP already brought the guys together in Florida to do some offseason work. The offensive line played well down the stretch and now they have added talent and depth. They're going into the draft without any really glaring needs so they can focus on having another good draft. Good job, Omar, Andy, and Coach T. I'm excited for this coming season.

As for coaches, Austin and Flores seemed pretty damn good.

It's fair to criticize Canada's offense but I expect it to improve significantly this year.
