I received both shots of the Pfizer in FebIt's much better than getting the disease though. I haven't heard of anyone going to the hospital because of the vaccine, but am sure there are some who have. I personally know people who spent time in the hospital because of COVID, as well as two who died of it.
first shot - no affect
2nd shot - felt like I had the flu for a day and a half
ive heard hearsay stories from people I know telling me they know people winding up in the hospital from the shots
when they determine there will be a need for 6 month or annual boosters- that will be a logistical nightmare all over again Originally Posted by nevergaveitathought

well in a way it is but I didn't have this in mind in my previous post but
when I received my second shot, at the u..t. health science center in s.a.
after you receive the shot, they request you wait 15 minutes before leaving, and I dutifully complied
the volunteer they had manning the waiting room I was in told his story
whether or not his analysis of what happened to him is correct or not I don't know but
he said he had received a flu shot within a relatively short period of time, I think he mentioned two weeks, before his second covid shot
and the covid shot sent him into a tailspin for over a month and he was hospitalized
he attributed it to the an interaction of the flu and covid shots and he kept saying no one told him that would happen
probably because it didn't happen but I don't know, but he did get sick and was hospitalized and he was convinced of the adverse interaction Originally Posted by nevergaveitathought
Agreed. Although I'd a lot rather get immunity through a vaccine than getting the disease. There is nothing to compare that too. This vaccine hasn't been tried and proven. So a lot of these claims are more theory at this point. Vaccines in the future may not involve Intramuscular Injections. Viruses are tissue specific. In the case of Covid-19 if it is a Corona Virus it sets up house keeping in the upper Respiratory System that's why the symptoms are Congestion, Difficulty Breathing, Headaches Body Aches and Fever. The day they develop and approve a Nasal Vaccine instead of a needle into the arm of a recipient is when a truly effective vaccine will fight Viruses such as Influenza, Corona Virus and Rhinovirus because the very tissues they effect will stimulate an immune response. The Nasal vaccine are in the initial stages of development. Intramuscular Injections take to long for the body to build up protection, they say a few weeks. Nasal would be a matter of hours. I don't have much fear of Covid-19 because the Immune System can manage it quite well in most cases. What scares the shit out of me is if there is ever a time when the Rabies Virus enters the population from some sort of manipulation and being bitten is no longer the only mode of transmission then we are all in big trouble. This virus can evade the Immune System by crossing the Blood Brain Barrier where the Immune System isn't present. It then destroys the Nervous System uninhibited, killing it's host. That would be a total nightmare.
It seems like it would be the reverse. If the virus is more widespread and stays around longer, it will mutate more. The vaccines, in particular Pfizer and Moderna, are better at producing immunity than a previous infection is. They also are more effective against variants created by mutations than a previous infection.
The flu caused fewer deaths last year than it does in most years, and people are speculating it's because of masking and lockdowns and the like. That's not to say I agree with lockdowns -- I don't.
Trying to persuade the public to wear masks and social distance, to buy time for development of vaccines, was a good idea. Originally Posted by Tiny

Rabies is of the family of Lyssavirus these viruses attack the Central Nervous System at the onset of symptoms the recipient is doomed.
Thankfully most virologists aren't crazy people bent on destruction of the human race. You'd think it's much more likely a "killer virus" would arise through mutations rather than manipulation. Originally Posted by Tiny

I mention Rabies because the recipient at the height of the disease onset would possibly become violent and be a danger to others where as AIDS most likely not.
The dismissal of advances made my medical science recently truly dismays me. Levianon points to rabies; I point to HIV. Had HIV been airborne rather than bloodborne, many of us wouldn't be here...in case you don't know, it attacks the immune response directly...we ha no cure or vaccine as yet...and effective treatments took years to develop.
Some now politicize medical advancement and attempt to establish such as over-reach of government. There are already proven, accepted, effective vaccines against measles, mumps, chickenpox, tetanus, polio, rabies,etc.....all the result of medical science, and some using attenuated live virus.
So why the kick back? Might be wiser to fund research against future viral and other pathogen threats. Originally Posted by reddog1951

First few days, 102F fever, moderate headache, and muscle aches. Fever went away first, then headaches, then finally muscle aches...almost 2 weeks later. Do I regret getting it, now that I survived it? No? Do I think these vaccines should be mandatory, or there should be incentives/disincentives tied to getting it/not getting it. HELL NO. You right-wing, anti-vax Freaks can not visit Europe this Summer. The rest of us can..
Yeah, I know. You didn't want to go anyway. Not to those Libtard Leftist Countries. You are anti-intellectual as well, LOL Originally Posted by Chung Tran
