She’s qualified. That’s all that matters and all that should matter. Same for everyone that gets nominated for any court. Republicans can nominate as many textualists as they like and they should be approved if they are qualified. If Democrats want living constitution, as long as the person is qualified they should be confirmed.
I’ve long said and maintain that senate confirmation should be only about qualification not about political leanings.
But there are no qualifications so it has to be based on something other than that. The only reason I agreed that she was "qualified", is because of the fact that it doesn't make a damn bit of difference and if Kavanaugh and Barrett were both "qualified", why would any Democrat oppose them? For the obvious reason of their judicial philosophy of course.
If there is one thing we should all agree on, it is that a SC Justice must respect the Constitution, not toss it in the trash and substitute their "feelings" instead of the document they have sworn to protect and defend.

So having a law degree and having practiced law, is not a qualification. The janitor at the court could be nominated and put on the court.
What an extraordinary thing for somebody to say, especially someone claiming to be a lawyer. When the nominee takes the oath, to protect and defend the Constitution, what is the Constitution if it can be anything the Justices want it to be? It would not be grounded in anything? But damn, that may say more about you than any of the other ridiculous things you have said.
So if a SC Justice said, I don't give a damn what the Constitution says, that would be OK with you? Sure it would as long as it was a Democrat I guess. SMH
