What is the best solution to homosexuality?

Through example, acceptance, and direction in a closely regulated environment.

It is really elementary ...

If a male is never taught he can stand up and piss throughout childhood and that's all he sees, it will not be easy for him as an adult....it will be the preference to sit and piss. Originally Posted by LexusLover

I have a handful of gay friends but I have many bi-sexual woman friends. They are not gay. Originally Posted by SpeedRacerXXX

Webster doesn't include an "exclusively" modifier to the definition of "gay"

gay = "sexually attracted to someone who is the same sex" ..... period!

I have and have had friends and associates who were (and are) "gay" as well as close family members. It is my understanding (we don't discuss our respective sexual activities) they have during their lives engaged in sexual activities with both sexes, but still identify themselves as being "gay" ... it's a difference without a distinction. The question on the table is .... whether it's genetic or environmental ... my answer is that it is both.

If being gay/lesbian is environmental, that should mean that you can take a person who has lived a gay/lesbian lifestyle and teach them to be "straight". Good luck with that.

Your opinion is just that. But redefining to restrict an information pool distorts the validity and reality. That's what this current administration is attempting to do with "terrorism" .... by eliminating modifiers to redirect the proper focus.

In an answer to your proposition of "teaching" ... it is my belief that people can modify their behavior whether it be addictions, sexual interests, and/or criminal activities .... or a combination of any of them.

In fact, in theory, this country has a criminal justice system founded on that notion.

For example:

"The American Psychological Association defines sexual orientation as "an enduring pattern of emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attractions to men, women, or both sexes," ranging "along a continuum, from exclusive attraction to the other sex to exclusive attraction to the same sex." Sexual orientation can also be "discussed in terms of three categories: heterosexual (having emotional, romantic, or sexual attractions to members of the other sex), gay/lesbian (having emotional, romantic, or sexual attractions to members of one's own sex), and bisexual (having emotional, romantic, or sexual attractions to both men and women)."

"Since then, gay, meaning homosexual male, has steadily driven out all the other definitions that have floated about through time and of course also has gradually begun supplementing the word ‘lesbian’ as referring to women who are homosexual."

So that is point 1 that I made in my previous post. The definition of "gay" that you posted is very narrow in scope and simply does not fit what most people think of when a person is called "gay".

The second and final point I made was in reference to your statement that being gay can be both genetic or environmental and you say "Both". And in a previous post you state that being gay can be taught "Through example, acceptance, and direction in a closely regulated environment." I disagree but I accept your OPINION.
