1. Didn't want to return to independence day or do ensemble casting
2. He prices himself out - asking for 50 million for 2 movies or a big price for his reappearance.
3 conflicting schedule issues - he was unable to take the role due to him working on Suicide squad.

I think he should have done it again, it ws the movie that cemented his career.

apparently he was saddened by what happened to his character.

Seeing 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi - today - I love Michael Bay - the man can make a spectacle. Pearl Harbir sucked - but the actual attack sequences is excellent and worth seeing it once. He's got great flash and style, his movies also reak of money , everything looks perfect. The guy has a great eye.

Saw ANOMALISA yesterday at SUNDANCE- stop motion animation film from the Mind of Charlie Kaufman (being John malkovich, adaptation, confessions of a dangerous mind) it was interesting, a fit depressing, not raunchy, but some heavy adult humor and graphics stop motion sex. David thewlis and Jennifer Jason Leogh are excellent as the 2 leads with incredible support from Tom Noonan as everyone else - literally - (there's a reason for that as well) I kinda wish it had been longer, but it looks at the mundaness of life and how flaws humans can be. The fact that it's stop motion animation allows the details of everyday life be more prominent. Fantastic film - wish it had been a bit longer. One final notes - I feel it's one of those movies that you will either like or hate .

When they did a puff piece about how he was saddened over the way his character was handled.

Its Independence Day and they gathering the majority of the major cast- I'm sure they would have found a way to bring you back.

I'm a little shocked hat they didn't use mad Whitman again, but... While Mae Whitman is not ugly , hey may have wanted to go with a better looking actress for the role - someone that oozes a little
More sex appeal.

It doesn't look jaden wants to do a movies anymore, he's now modeling girls clothes .

He's saddened because that was their way of saying fuck you. Jaden still wants to do movies but him and his sister are so "entitled" mommy and daddy have to get the roles for them.

13 hours was overall good, It lacked the depth of black hawk down, zeor dark thirty, and lone survivor, but it's still a relentless ride. these guys went through hell to protect the people they charged with protecting.
Just got back from seeing 13 Hours.. Personally, I liked it. Lots of action and fire power. Of course being that Michael Bay directed it, you can see some of the Transformer type explosions in it.... But overall, in my opinion, a very solid film... 2 thumbs up!!
