Here Fishy Fishy

I'm headed out tomorrow and Friday. Wish me luck, I'll report back.
I was out in Freeport this past weekend with the same result. But I did stop off at oyster creek and caught a few throw backs . Originally Posted by swarley69

I mainly fish around Pt O'Connor and Rockport. Fishing for reds and trouts I typically use soft plastics. Mainly because I don't care for catching all of the trash fish with live and/or frozen bait. It's more work because you have to keep the lure active to attract the fish but that's most of the fun IMHO.

Don't get me wrong, I'll use live shrimp and/or croaker from time to time but as far as inshore fishing is concerned... Mainly soft plastics. Can't wait till these waters warm up a bit more. That's where I spend m weekends.
This weekend in port a it was flat ive never seen it like that ever it was weird.. I fished at the horace caldwall pier didn't catch nothing good a few sting rays others were catching jack Carvel on live shrimp.. I usually go to copano pier i regret it now.. They said they catch reds in the bays idk..

With all the rain and wind the fishing has sucked. Got to run the new boat a few times. Did manage to go to the sunken ship and catch a few Red's.

You talking about the old concrete ship off of Pelican Island?
Buddy tore them up near Palacios Friday and Saturday afternoon/evening. I went Tuesday evening and the wind killed it. Caught one nice trout. Wednesday morning the fishing was excellent for the first few hrs. Hard to kayak fish in 20-30 mph winds. Bigger trout are starting to hit now though.

There is a second one near the end of the north jetty on the gulf side.
