Apollo 11 - got to watch all broadcasts no matter the time.

Tube TVs and radios. Tube testers at the Savon Drug store. Getting ice cream cone after getting replacement tubes...

Banana seats, sissy bars, and it was cool to have a visibility flag on a fiberglass pole on your bike. Also using playing cards hitting the spokes for sound effects.

Manual typewriters. Slide rules. The first 4 banger electric calculator. The first pocket calculator (HP-35).

Smokey the Bear was introduced.

Being pissed at politicians over Watergate - because it preempted all the good shows like Speed Racer and Gilligan's Island,...

Anyone remember CB radios?

I am going to date myself probably....remember staying up late watching T.V. and watching the National Anthem and then the test pattern when the station went off the air for the night?

I remeber T.G.I.F. coming on A.B.C. on Friday nights with shows like: "Family Matters", "Full House", "Dinosaurs", "Perfect Strangers", "Step by Step", ect.

I remeber high top sneakers, Nike and Rebok pumps, Members only jackets, denim jackets and Panama hats. Originally Posted by thundarr28

Yep high top sneakers, a couple of layer of color socks, not tieing the shoelaces, folding the bottom of the jeans. And using several cans of aerosol hair spray a week just to get bangs higher than my head. Jelly shoes

Friday Night Videos before MTV came out. Saturday mornings cartoons and Wrestling. After school, rushing home just to be able to see Dance Party USA.

First CD, well technically Vinyl Record/Album was Purple Rain.

None of y'all are probably old enough to remember this: PENNY CANDY! And those big pretzel sticks for a penny each. I remember I used to comb the neighborhood lookin' for coke bottles and then cash 'em in and literally eat myself sick on penny candies and pretzel sticks! OMG haven't thought about this in forever.Gosh, Im an old woman.....

Wow

First CD I bought was Depeche Mode, "Music for the Masses", then Erasure, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Eurythmics.

Never thought Vanilla Ice was good, but I did own 2 Live Crew on tape.

I remember fat neon shoelaces left untied
Girbaud, Cavaricci (sp?) and parachute pants

I thought punching pads on Street Fighter arcade game was the best idea ever. A few months later, using regular push buttons was the best idea ever.
