Obama had largely favorable comments about the Arab Spring in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia and characterized it as the spread of freedom. He was not so pleased when the dictatorship in Iran was threatened a couple of years ago. He said it was none of our business and actually went so far as to say that the protestors in Iran had requested that we stay out the conflict; this was later proven to be a lie.

the democrats aren't worried about this at all because they think we can afford to drastically cut military spending and divert the funds to social programs without compromising our ability to defend ourselves. Of course once the russians (or any other country) are knocking on the doors of the white house, the democrats will blame the Republicans.
