Birdbrain Republican Healthcare Plan, 24 million to lose insurance coverage!

JD Barleycorn's Avatar
How many people don't have health INSURANCE now? The CBO keeps saying that millions MORE will not have health INSURANCE. That means people don't have insurance....why? How many? I thought Obama fixed this.

The short answer is that people decided to pay the fine if need be and not get health insurance. Millions of them. So, those 20 million who will lose their insurance? What they really mean is that a lot of people will not renew their insurance voluntarily. Which is really important to Americans.

the 24 million who will lose their health care are those worthless idiots who were mooching off Odumbocare that have no intention of working and signing up for health care, but expecting the government to force others to pay it for them ..... Originally Posted by 00 gauge

If a family of 4 makes less than $16,000 (considered the poverty level) they will qualify for Original Medicaid which was signed into law by LBJ in 1965.

The people who live in states that did not take the Medicaid Expansion or got the exemption or pay the tax are the other 9% who are still uninsured.

With the House of Reps bill the CBO just scored funds for State Medicaid expansion goes away in 2020 and that would make 10 million people lose their health insurance.

Supposedly, there are varying ranges of tax credits/subsidies available depending on your income. Still, the middle class gets their ass kick and subsidize lower class. I myself can never benefit from my worthless Obamacare. The deductible is too high. My premiums are ridiculous.

My vote is to repeal and let the market take over. As for the pre-existing in the lower class, separate that issue for another day.

All the bullshit on MSNBC, ABC, CBS, etc... saying thousands of millions are going to die the day after Obamacare is repealed is non-sense (except to retarded libs).

The others need to budget like Obama suggested in 2014 and Chaffetz did the other day and got hammered by the hypocrites in the media.

2. You do have a good point that people who are already sick can purchase insurance on HealthCare.Gov and in that example it is not really "Real Insurance" because the event the insurance company is insuring for has already occurred.

3. On the exchange (HealthCare.Gov) premiums are high for people over 50. If the cheapest premium in your zip code is higher that 10% of your monthly income you qualify for the exemption and would not have to pay a tax for being uninsured.

4. With the House bill that the CBO just scored, funds for State Medicaid expansion go away in 2020 and those people (10 million)would lose their Medicaid coverage. That is not a speculation.

So, your brother is/was in the individual market and purchased a policy at HealthCare.Gov? Did he get a subsidy from the government? Your saying his policy did not cover the medical expense to treat his kidney stone? How much more debt would he have had if he was uninsured?

The state of Kentucky did take the State Medicaid Expansion from the ACA and 300,000 citizens signed up for it.

Yeah, flight, but we all know it's bad to make poor people well...

There is no national health plan as long as the states and insurance companies are allowed to conspire against it.

When you don't have a mandate to buy insurance many people will choose not to have it.

When you force it on them it is natural the the people who have insurance is greater.

Since the passing of Obamacare...it now costs you a fee just to be an American.

Neither of these plans address the real problem of health care

Debating the merits of either of these is like debating between Clinton or Trump like picking turds

Healthcare is not a right granted to the people by the government.
The government should have nothing to do with this other than to assist those that have no other means and that exists in Medicaid. Even that is not the responsibility of the government.

I suppose if we were able to get rid of all the illegals that are taking American jobs, we could reduce the Medicaid rolls by having people employed at a decent wage. Home builders would have to stop using illegals and pay a decent wage for the craftsmen they need.
