I generally follow what the GPS says, but I have a brain and eyes, so I ignore it in cases where it's blatantly obvious that the directions that I've been given are either wrong or are going to take me somewhere that I can't reasonably or legally go, e.g. telling me to make a u-turn on the interstate.
