Burn them down. And burn them down when they pop back up. Do it enough times, and they'll get the hint and leave. The people living in them aren't down on their luck, they're not mentally disturbed, they're addicts and nere-do-wells from California, Oregon, and Washington. They come to town for the festivals and the tolerant people and easy drugs that come with liberally minded folk.

And if that doesn't work, get a backhoe and dig a deepish hole. Originally Posted by GastonGlock

These are the same people who don't go to the shelters because the shelters don't allow them to act like debauched animals or use their drugs. The same people who just walk into Convenience Stores and Pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS and steal shit off the shelves with impunity.

They don't want treatment. If you build them houses, they won't use them if there are rules. They use your kindness against you as a weakness.

If you want to help them so much, let a bunch of them move into your back yard. See how quickly you become a prisoner in your own house.

That’s a rather broad generalization, isn’t it.

Id say make euthanasia available to these folks. Theyre not really living anyway
We had gypsies, hobos, and transients in the railroad town I grew up in. Best case they were just stealing things, worst they'd attack women or a kid would go missing.

If you don't chase them out, they're like bedbugs - duplicating fast, hard to get rid of, and bleed you at night.

So....
Will the city council put a barb wire fence around the homeless camp?

Winn,

How about fencing around the hotels?
You missed my point.
