In Canada, the historical changes to the drinking age followed a similar pattern (first no limit, then prohibition, then 21 after repeal, lower to 18 or 19, then raise some more provinces to 19), except that no province or territory raised their age limit back to 21 (or even 20). Most provinces/territories are currently 19, while three (Alberta, Manitoba, and Quebec) are 18.

In TX:

at a titty bar---The dancers have to be 18 or older. The patrons 21 or older.
at a nude bar---Both dancers and patrons have to be 18 or older.

The difference? The titty bars have alcohol. The nude bars are BYOB. Apparently, liquor and uncovered kitty is a bad thing.

I knew of a guy who was 6 weeks shy of his 21st birthday when the age went up in NY. But the law as written back then (since changed) had a loophole: it became illegal to sell a 20-year-old alcohol or give it to him, but it wasn't illegal for him to have it. There wasn't any such thing as "unlawful possession of alcohol."

So what he did, just before the age went up, was go out and buy (legally) a bunch of cases of beer which he stacked in a closet. This kept him partying until he was old enough again to buy.

It sure is. Really as is with all the silly laws in regards to prostitution and such. It's unfortunate, but too many laws are based on a minority's morality vs. logical arguments. Originally Posted by onlyyoungonce
