Democrat Clown Car Unloads At Senate

Did anyone ask "Where's Justice Roberts?" and "Why isn't he here?" Originally Posted by gnadfly

Pat Leahy is the acting Judge. now this is a big conflict of interest.

he's a senator acting as a judge and he also voted for the impeachment trial to go forward.

didn't they used to call him Leaky Leahy? or was that someone else?

.
Trump’s defense was terrible. It was at least humorous though as bad lawyering is always funny. I like how they admitted that Trump lost the election and that the people chose to replace him. Something all but the stupidest people in the US was well aware. When the defense is that it was the fault of stupid people that believed the lie the President told that caused the insurrection, that’s hilarious. True but hilarious.

Then he reiterated that point on Hannity. It was the stupid Trump supporters that believed lies everyone else knew was false that attacked the Capitol and the President surely can’t be held responsible for that. I love it. Even Trump knows his followers are stupid.

My favorite line from Trump’s lawyer “the people are smart enough to vote out a leader they don’t like - and they just did”

Who on here believed the election lies? Sure none of the folks on ECCIE believed the election lies. How stupid would one have to be to believe those asinine conspiracy theories?

I believe there is a lot of truth in this.
So it's not impeachment. Even though every channel calls it an impeachment and the articles of impeachment call it an impeachment.

To use an easy to understand example the statute of limitations for crimes prevent a person being charged after a set time period based on the statute. By law, the DA (or states attorney or DOJ) has to bring their indictment within the statute of limitations or they are barred from doing so. They can file their indictment on the last day.

Then there is discovery and trial. Those don’t have to occur within the statute of limitations. They can be had, and usually are, months even years later as long as the indictment was timely. No different than what’s happening with Trump now. He was impeached (indicted) while president. But his trial is occurring afterward even though he’s no longer president.

Impeachment - first process
Trial - second process

Hope that helps and clears it up for you.

1b1- thank you for the incessant reminders of Nov 2020
We now have a senile idiot as POTUS, backed by a radical marxist, and fiden is doing his level best to repay comrade Xi for the financial gift of billions of dollars to his corrupt fiden crime syndicate.

Enjoy - until the consequences of 'socialist Paradise" come to bite Amerika on its collective butt.

Best have your Voter Fraud Bureau in full swing for 2022.

The whole thing is a farce and both sides know it. The dems care about nothing but trying to prevent President Trump and his 75 million supporters from coming back in 2024.
