Hannity is correct and it wouldn't be the first time. In a replay of history, democrat Woodrow Wilson (a southern racist) had a political opponent tossed in jail on trumped up charges of sedition. Eugene Debbs, while serving time, ran a campaign from his prison cell. History shows to what ends the democrats will go to. Wilson had people follow Debbs and write down what he said at rallies. Though no one can confirm (quite the opposite), the government used these written notes to convict Debbs for "attacking" the United States and Wilson (crimes at the time) by saying that he thought World War I was a bad idea and young men shouldn't have to fight it for foreign powers.
