Is it ok to bring your own condom when seeing a provider?

Its definitely a good idea to communicate this with your provider.. I really cant imagine any lady having an issue with working with you on this.

Like others said, bringing and wanting to use your own can be a concern for some ladies, not just the tampering factor, but also because she may have sensitivities.

Im really sensitive to the lubricant used in some condoms...I got it narrowed down to that, but Im not sure what it is..since even within the same brand, certain types are no prob and others..major prob! So Im always apprehensive about using a condom that Im not already familiar with. The wrong one could put me out of commission for a week or so.

I always bring my own, but have NO problem with a gent bringing a desired brand or style. I encourage ANYONE that doesn't fit normal Trojans to bring whats comfortable. If you're a bigger guy, bring magnums, cause if what I bring cut off your circulation, you're the one who is going to be uncomfortable. If you're smaller, and norms don't fit snug, you'll be missing out. Of course, if I'm made aware of your needs before hand, I'll furnish the proper fit, but like you said, thats a touchy subject over the phone.
For me, stuff like fire and ice, ribbed, or fancy pants condoms just aren't cool. Good old fashioned, tried and true types works fine.
There is nothing wrong with bringing your own but gentlemen please, PLEASE if you intend to use your own condom, tell her first.

I am allergic to nearly every condom except for one particular brand. I had a gentleman show up, and without telling me, he used his own brand of condom rather than the condoms I had lying on the nightstand. After a few minutes, I felt a burning stinging sensation and nearly asked him to stop. I had no idea he wasn't using my brand, so I was baffled as to why I was feeling a burning sensation. When I got off the bed, I saw the wrapper and realized he'd used a brand that I"m allergic to. I flew into the shower to wash off, but it was too late. I was burned like hell down there, spent the rest of the evening on an ice pack, and couldn't work for three days.

So feel free to bring your own, but always communicate beforehand.

Always bring my own, allergic to latex alot of the ladies do not carry the non-latex. Originally Posted by geecue

I think that if your lady is your ATF, then tell her what you like and have her get them. Most of us I think are accomodating in this area.

I too bring my own always. Now what I have learned the hard way is don't get that fire and ice shit. Your dick feels like it ate a mint, and her mout if she does bj will be on fire. It's the dumbest condom out there. I bring magnum ecstasy no chick has ever complained. I bring two just in case normaly just leave the extra one as I may forget it in my pocket an we can't be doing that now can we.

I would definitely bring my own condom when visiting a provider. You never know if she has them or not or what kind of condoms she may have.

Think like a Boy Scout.

I generally don't mind gents bringing their own protection IF it's an unopened box with the receipt from that day.

However, there are certain types that I don't like. Condoms lubricated with Nonoxynol-9 are no bueno for me. Non-lubricated, also no. Magnum XL specifically are not fun because they COMPLETELY suck the moisture out of my naughty bits. LOL

I know that guys can be really attached to their brand, but please know that our lady parts have to be comfortable or bad things can happen. Rashes, irritation, etc. I think it's best to let the ladies make the decision, but if you must have a certain type, bring them in an unopened box with the receipt. Some guys are freaks (poking holes in condoms), and I would NEVER use one unless I was sure that it was safe. Same goes for lube, toys, etc. Unopened and with receipts.

Maybe providers could put a chart on their websites of approved condoms and you could place your order when you book?

It's a good idea to bring your own as back ups, but a provider told me she is amused by the slightly above average guys who insist they need magnums. She gently tells them that the regular versions won't hurt them one bit.
