The new Iphone. When is enough, enough?

Once you go apple, you never go back. That doesn't ryhme, but that is exactly why apple can charge what they do for their products.

Try Gazelle (www.gazelle.com). They buy and sell used iPhones, iPads and MacBooks. I purchased my iPhone 6+, iPad Air 2 and 2015 MacBook Pro from there. Never had any issues. They do extensive testing on all the products they resell. As long as Gazelle is around I won't be buying a phone, tablet or laptop directly from Apple.

The X 256GB is $1,253 with tax and you can't get an unlocked one, only a carrier exclusive one to 4 carriers.

I am still on the 6 and will stay with the 6.

But look at the prices for the 7, they will drop considerably.

Maybe even get a lower GB model free. Check each individual carrier websites after the 8 comes out for possible special deals on the 7.

Even a 7 is still newer and better than a 4, 5 or 6.

I switched to a Pixel and haven't looked back.

You can get a new one on most carriers for between 11-25$ a month.

I paid outright for mine and it was still only 400$

Getting a iphone only makes sense if you have iphone friends or family to take advantage of FaceTime.

For the hobby Android is the way to go as you can do more with a Android and don't have to be a slave to Apple.

Stick to fixing cars. That statement is completely false about what android can do for hobbyists. I use both, S8 plus and iPhone 7 Plus owner.

Looks like the phone guru is taking a forced vacation? Apple fans are always protective over their iPhones, Most iphone users utilize Google apps so it's a double whammy when it comes to privacy.

The 6 works perfectly fine.

I'm fine with pushing a button to get in my phone. I won't change until there is actually a performance issue or the phone becomes free to upgrade which is every 2 years.

Now iPhone x is going to get confusing when apple actually go to the iPhone 10.

No it probably won't.

Most folks here in the USA don't know the Roman Numerals so for them the X is just that: X and not 10.

Roman Numerals is not something that is taught in public school even at basic math level.

I grew up in Europe and learned Latin and Italian before any other languages and didn't speak a word of English when I came here from Europe in the late 70's.

I have a 6 and it's my first smartphone.

Before that I used a Motorola RAZR V3m Flip Phone for many many years, since 2004.

By the time I turned that in for an iPhone 6 in 2015, I was only paying $13 a month to Verizon.

It still worked fine and I had unlimited text and voice - just couldn't get on the net.

I paid full price for my iPhone 6 and switched to AT&T.

I don't have a contract. Month to month right away.

I can replace it anytime with a newer smartphone or leave AT&T and go anywhere else.

But I am fine where I am and I won't replace it until it stops working.

Maybe it will also last me 11 years.

They announce the new Iphone X and now, you cannot even pre-order it for another 6 weeks.

Although I probably won't get one, it's still so damn tiring to feel like a puppet on a string with this type of marketing.

It's the same with the weather and news.

Hurricane Harvey was upsetting to Texans even if we weren't in the area of the storm. Many were concerned about our fellow Texans.

Heck, feel the same way about the Irma storm in Florida.

However, it's like there are PR people, spin doctors and God knows what and who else (actuary specialists?) who know how we'll feel about a product, or a weather event, and just precede to cover it over and over again, until it's sickening.

Then, teases us with not being able to get the object of desire when it's officially announced.

I feel like revolting against the mainstream - everything.

First World problems/issues, I'll admit.

Jesus. It's the ten year anniversary of Apple. He argued that the next phone was the 9. And the "X" was the special anniversary edition.

Are you kidding me?

So you're suggesting that young people don't know the meaning of Roman numerals? This particular person just seemed a tad dumb.

Didn't realize not knowing this sort of thing was the norm.

These phones are getting outrageously big. It budges out of all your clothes, etc

I think the iPhone 5 was the best size. They should go back to that. It fit in every pocket and big enough to see, do whatever and surf the internet comfortably.

I think 'X' one of those Roman numerals...However dumb you are you still know what it is. I could be wrong though.

The iPhone X, as far as I can tell, is an uglier Samsung S8.

Apple used to be an innovative company, now they are marketeers.

I am an Apple guy who stopped purchasing at the 6s and happy I did.
