This isn't a combat situation. You have an active shooter in a school full of kids. Even if you are only drawing fire, you are still protecting the kids from being the main target.
Sorry, the cops (as. usual) fcuked this up. They stood around like a fcuking debating society (I've read that some got their own kids out) and prevented parents from taking action.
ACTIVE SHOOTER... IN A SCHOOL. It's not time to debate tactics, it's time to get in the fcuking building, find, fix and eliminate the shooter. The 911 call went out a 11:30, the shooter wasn't dropped until 1PM.
WTF?! I don't need to RUSH to judgement on this... I can see it from the get go.
I also know cops are under no obligation to prevent you from being murdered even if they are watching the crime... but how these turd burglars sleep at night knowing that they COULD have made a difference and didn't is BEYOND ME.

based on that if accurate no one fucked up and failed to stop this punk from getting to the school. also heard that the door he entered was supposed to be locked during that time. i'm sure that will not look good if true. this was supposed to be the standard after other shootings.
it's still unclear the time when the first officers entered. need more details on that as for the total time frame over an hour doesn't mean the shooter was still a position to continue to kill any kids or teachers. police are required to attempt to apprehend suspects, even in a case like this they can't treat it like combat. and if the enemy surrenders in combat they are supposed to be allowed to otherwise it's executing prisoners of war.
and what good would it have done if all the officers rushed in and all got shot? at least some should have remained in a backup position after officers entered. that open door is going to factor big in this, let's say if it should have been locked and was, he could still have gotten in through a window. unclear but unlikely that school had any security on the windows to prevent someone from breaking them out, perhaps that's one thing of practical use that comes from this. if it had been harder to enter what would this punk do then? probably start going to homes or businesses nearby and attacking random people.
