My neighborhood is one of the rougher ones in the city. I seldom see police and you can drive down the street 2 blocks and continually see drug dealing in broad daylight. There have been 2 shootings in 3 weeks in the same area. But when the neighborhood officer shows up to the monthly neighborhood meetings-- we keep getting told "they're working on it". We don't see police patrols around here unless they're responding to a shooting.


I can drive across town to work.. and will constantly see police on patrol. Continuously. In a neighborhood with almost no crime rate comparatively. I understand her she thinks if where was police every where in her neighbor to point cop car infront every house and work and there pull people over and herrest the law binding citizen maybe false accause "put in jail via trial" a few of crimes when walk funny.
There a town north of me with just 2900 people and there have 12 cops making there cop ratio to person 250 range which way higher than most big city's of 1500 and it some place where crime all time and on top people just scares police.

Imagine how even more fucked up this country would be right now if we did not have cops and people would not be arrested by them. I have no desire to live in a lawless society. I know cops can't arrest every criminal, but they do arrest enough to my satisfaction.

My only complaint is that they kind of just let the inner city police themselves which usually turns into a blood bath in certain cities. Many of the good people who live there deserve better protection.
