It's been reported that some contain a virus? I'm not sure how that works, exactly, but it does give me a valid reason to remove some of the more * cough * provocative of the photos.

And I'm with a few of the others. I don't like viewing this type of extreme, either. However, some folks obviously do.

The image guidelines have been substantially relaxed on Eccie this past year. But sometimes, there is a stopping point of what the collective audience will wish to tolerate viewing.

I'm sure that most will agree.

Elisabeth, Someone pointed me to this thread and asked my opinion. Personally I am disturbed by them, but that is not what I why I am writing.

It is easy to remove photos--the harder, but probably more important question to consider: if you remove some of them for content (not for the virus issue), then I hope ECCIE takes the time to decide and broadcast what the line/limit is.

Before the newer guidelines, the way that we decided if something was within the guidelines we would ask ourselves, "Is it good enough for Playboy?"

In other words, if it was a picture like one might view in Playboy magazine, then it was probably alright here.

When the rules were changed there weren't any catchy phrases to help guide the moderators to assist us in what is decent, or not.

THANKFULLY, I have a GREAT co-moderator who is helpful and can guide me when I turn all female and cannot make up my mind about things.

ztonk is the bomb and he was the one that helped, several months ago, when a bunch of scat pictures were posted and they were really out of line.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there really is NOT a line that we have drawn in the sand to suggest that a certain image is alright or not.

Tia, above, really put things nicely when she basically said that we all like different things.

And I don't mind pushing boundaries. But sometimes, an image is just indecent.

And those decisions will be made when they need to be.

So my apologies for not having an answer that addresses your question more specifically. I just don't think that there is one.

While I'm not into some of the activities in the images posted...I definitely would consider others (latent cat woman fantasy kicking in perhaps).

One of the main things I hope we would hold ourselves to is the " your kink is ok but it may not be my kink" ...it is so true you cannot unsee some of the images , I think that a parameter like if it's ok for Playboy is a bit too mild for this forum....several avatars and sig line photos go past that criteria.

I was not shocked by the images as they were commensurate with the capitalized title of the post (yes I did skip past it at breakfast and came back to read it later!)

Maybe a happy medium would be links with a descriptor before the link so you can choose ? Then you can pick what erotica you expose yourself too?

Jesus. I went too far with my analogy. Blame it on the full moon today. But you get what I'm trying to say.

If there is a question about an image presented, I will often ask ztonk or an admin on this site to get a second opinion and for now, this has really worked nicely.

If an image were to cause a great stir, like the scat ones did several months back, well it's just not a problem to go up the chain of command and get second opinions.

I'm really thinking that we're making this more of an issue than it has to be.

Images will be posted. And if something seems objectionable, for whatever reason, we can all join in a discussion. You do what a few others have done in the past and send me a PM. Or RTM the post.

And then, a decision can be made.

Plus, EVERYTHING is saved in the archives. So if I make a mistake in moderating? And that has happened. Or delete something that should be returned?
