They know they are being overwhelmed by large immigrant groups unfriendly to them as a political block, and realize the white elites have sold them out. They may not vote, but they may provide extensive civil disobedience from here until their deaths. No, they don't care about voting period. It doesn't matter if it was 40 years ago or 10 years ago. We are talking about the majority of white people living in the U.S. They aren't the brightest bunch out there. These people are the working poor or what some people call "white trash." They aren't going to be civilly disobedient. They are politically irrelevant because they take themselves out of the process. Ignorance is bliss. Right now the Republicans are trying to use them to get a footing in this election because they have a mascot, Donald Trump, that attracts them like bugs to a bright lamp post. They didn't care about them before or now because Republicans view the working poor as a threat to their power base and the machinery of the U.S. economy. They will never care about them.
In the meantime, the elites will use the large immigrant blocks to work cheap in their factories and businesses, clean their houses, and mow their lawns. They care about them as much they do the dirt they walk on each day, but they want their votes for the power it gives them. Originally Posted by DSK
